The Statue of "Hamanasu no Sei"
|
|
Get off route 51 at "Tsunoore" signal and go down
to the coast. The statue of "Hamanasu no Sei" (the nymph of sweet
brier) stands on the tip of a headland that can be seen from the
coastline.
The statue was built by Kashima City Ohno Tourism Association as
a new beauty spot for the new city. The figure is a nymph, gently
smiling, holding a dove in her right hand, expressing gratitude
for the ocean and hope for peace. Height of the statue is 7 meters.
